Close to 90 Air Travels Linked to Epstein Allegedly Came to or from UK Airfields
An investigation has uncovered that approximately 90 flights associated to the late financier Jeffrey Epstein allegedly landed at and took off from British airports, with some allegedly transporting British women who allege they were exploited by the convicted sex offender.
Aviation Records Show Pattern of Travel
The travel manifests were among thousands of court documents and papers made public by the estate of Jeffrey Epstein that have been disclosed over the past year. The investigation found 87 flights connected to Epstein â featuring many that were hitherto undisclosed â coming into or leaving from UK airports between the early 1990s and 2018.
Passenger Details and Post-Conviction Flights
Unnamed âfemalesâ were documented among the individuals travelling into and out of the UK. Notably, 15 of these flights involving the UK took place following Epsteinâs 2008 conviction for procuring prostitution from a minor.
âIt was âshockingâ that there had never been a âthorough probe in the UKâ into his dealings in the country,â remarked US lawyers acting for hundreds of Epstein victims.
British Victims and Legal Proceedings
Testimony from one of the UK-based survivors was instrumental in convicting Epsteinâs accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell of child sex-trafficking in the US in 2021. But, that survivor has never been contacted by police in the UK, as stated by her attorney based in Florida.
In a response, the Metropolitan police stated they had ânot been provided with any further evidence that would support reopening the probe.â They added, âShould new and relevant evidence be brought to our attention, including any arising from the release of material in the US, we will assess it.â
Ongoing Disclosure and Judicial Decisions
A bill to release all files held by the US government in concerning Epstein passed the House and Senate last month. The US justice department has until 19 December to adhere to this requirement. Hundreds of thousands of files are expected to be released.
Additionally, a US judge decided last week that the DOJ could make public case files from a trafficking prosecution against Maxwell, Epsteinâs close friend, who is serving a 20-year prison sentence over the allegations.
