Pre-release tournaments for this next MTG set, Lorwyn Eclipsed, are set to commence on January 16. Although the full spoiler period is slated to start on Jan. 5, lead designer Maro Rosewater has again released a lengthy list of mechanical hints ahead of schedule.

Among the numerous teasers, several stand out. The set will include a "card that searches each turn." This likely refers to a creature that allows a you to look through their library every upkeep for a certain type, potentially under certain conditions.

This might be something as modest as finding a basic land every turn, or something more powerful such as a search effect that grows based on a creature's power.

He also mentioned a fresh card that copies abilities that trigger. This card could be linked to a revealed character, a planeswalker that, by tapping a pair of untapped creatures, can copy a triggered ability once per turn.
